day 120 - victories

over the past 2 weeks i have started several posts but end up deleting them because i couldn't think of anything positive to say. so i just decided to say nothing. but i know God has called us to community and i wouldn't be where i am right now without it. these past few weeks have been extremely rough. we have been at war with the enemy in every real sense of the word. yes, we have 4 kids in our house. but we are learning that we have 4 kids and then we have 4 traumatized kids on top of that. each one is so different and has to be handled in such a unique way. there is no formula, book, or plan on how to make any of this work. even the best therapists don't always have the answers. but i am more grateful right now that ever before that we can call on our Father who is MIGHTY TO SAVE! God's hands have been at work. at times it can seem like he isn't answering the prayer i am praying but he is answering it in a different way that is even more powerful that i could have ever imagined. i know many of you have been praying for my family these past few weeks. many of you have even shared with me that God has laid our family on your hearts. that is no accident. the past few days i have felt like Moses when he could no longer keep his arms up to win the battle and his friends had to stand on both sides of him to keep his arms up so the battle would be won. this is what community is about! don't miss it! it's as important as the air we breathe. God works through community.

God's timing is incredible. i still stand in awe at how God continues to build are community for such a time as this. i love that in those really hard battles i can send a text message to dozens of friends and know people are praying us through the battles. this past week one of my sweet friends sent me a message and told me to listen to a song called "invade" by watermark. let's just say i downloaded the song immediately and it has been on repeat in my house for the past 3 days! i tried to find it on youtube but couldn't so i'm just going to share with you the lyrics. pray this over your own house and please pray it over mine. God claimed the victory in my house today! and i know he will claim it again tomorrow!

Come, come in
Invade all You see of us
Any man, who'd walk Your road is welcomed here
And You're the only one

Jesus, come and walk the halls of this house
Tread this place and turn it inside out
With Your mercy...
Jesus, teach us the prayers that open these doors
Until Your light floods in and illuminates these floors
And let Your truth be on our steps and in these rooms
Jesus invade...

Reach, reach in
With the hand that heals all our suffering
Conquer all that is not of You
Bring Your spirit through
As we fill these walls with Your praise

I call for angels
I call for mercy
I call for freedom
In the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus

calling all prayer warriors

it's finally september. the weather is already getting cooler and i'm about chest deep in christmas planning at work. i have projects going left and right and sometimes i feel like my head is going to explode with all that is going on. but even in all the business there is still the deep anticipation of our baby.

since most of my posts are me pouring out my heart it makes sense to share this with you. this past weekend was a very overwhelming "baby" weekend. just one of those weekends where you see little babies at every turn, everyone is talking about being pregnant or their adoption, and everything else that can be baby related. don't get me wrong. i love being around all the baby stuff but sometimes it just gets overwhelming and i want to SCREAM! brian and i went to a CPR class on saturday along with several other couples that are also adopting. some of them have been waiting about 2 years. i kept looking around the room thinking "we are so much cooler than them." i know that probably is very judgmental of me to think that but that's how i felt. and i hate hearing that people are waiting so long. i believe in the depths of my heart that God will bring our child before Christmas but sometimes i get so discouraged. i have been heavily leaning on the verse "lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him..." I do not understand all this waiting one bit. but i do know i serve a God who sees the bigger picture. my God knows my heart. my God knows my baby. and my God is big enough to handle all my emotions.

because i work in the music business i listen to music all day long. i heard a song recently off the new britt nicole album called "have your way". it's a pretty awesome song if you haven't heard it. but here is the chorus and the words really spoke to me:
So I'll stop searching for the answers,
I'll stop praying for an escape,
I'll trust you God with where I am,
And believe you will have your way,
Just have your way
you can listen to the song here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW6RinFJnOU

here is are call to all the prayer warriors:
PLEASE PRAY WITH US AND BELIEVE WITH US that we will hear from our adoption agency in the next few weeks. that we will meet our future child's birthmother and begin our relationship with her. we are believing that God hears our prayers and will bring our child home soon.

worshiping while waiting

i've been spending so much trying to figure out what God was wanting me to do while i'm waiting on his timing. this song spoke directly to my heart. i just need to spend my time face to face with our Saviour who blesses me more that i can ever deserve. i just need to fall more and more in love with him everyday. when you spend time with the Father nothing else matters and he can move and he can work and you wont even notice until he drops it in your lap. even still during this time of waiting God is still providing the money we need to complete this adoption and we are so grateful. God surprises me everyday. After this week we should only have about $3,800 to go before we are to our total! but for now i'm gonna continue to just stay face to face with God and just enjoy who he is.

an amazing song!!!!

WHILE I'M WAITING by John Waller (listen and read)

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord
