this old house

my biggest heart's desire for 2011 is to move into a house that will allow our family to breathe. we currently live in a 1200 sq foot house with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. i feel like we live on top of each other all the time. doesn't make for fun rainy or snow days (which we have been having to many of). don't get me wrong. i'm extremely grateful for the house we have. we don't pay much for the space that we do have. we live out in the country were we have a huge front and backyard. our boys have been able to play football in the front or go exploring through the woods in the back. when the boys have gotten mad they've been able to go out in the yard and scream and yell and it doesn't bother a soul. i know there is a reason God brought us to the country for this season of our lives. but honestly, few things would give me more joy than moving into our own home, in a neighborhood, close to convenience. we are beginning to feel isolated out here in the country in our small house. i have always wanted a big farm house on tons of land but right now convenience and community are a necessity for our next season of life. i long for our boys to have friends to play with, a street to ride their bikes on, or a driveway to play some basketball. i long to go on walks through our neighborhood, spend time sitting on the front porch watching all the kids play, be able to "run" to the store and be back in less than an hour, or feel like there is someone to call for help in times of emergencies.

God's timing has always been perfect and he has never steered us wrong before. i am believing that he will direct us to the right house in the right place near the right schools and in the right time. i'm also believing it will be sooner rather than later :-)

There are currently two empty houses on our street! One is in foreclosure, and the other actually has a for sale sign out front, but I wouldn't be surprised if they would be willing to do a rent situation. And you would have help right close by! And at least one neighbor who won't judge you (if you don't judge us. ha). Just something to think about and maybe look into. It's a great neighborhood. Lots of really nice people, and quite a few adoptive families!
