Chick-fil-A Fundraiser!!!!

Everyone is invited to come out to Chick-fil-A in Cool Springs on June 11 between 5-8pm. We will be doing a fundraiser for the remaining $1900 we have left for our adoption. There will be a sign up sheet on the door and we must have 100 people sign it in order to receive 10% of the sales in those 3 hours. PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT! Brian and I will be there and we can't wait to see you. Bring your friends, family, small groups, youth groups, church, anyone you know. Let's eat all the chicken we can and raise some money in the process. Thanks so much for the support you've already shown. We will see you 2 weeks from tonight in Cool Springs!

lots of news...

well in the past week we have several things that have come together so i thought i would do one post to share it all. i'm sure i'll post more later with more specifics but here you go. you may also have noticed that we are in the process of redesigning our blog. we are having some trouble with our header though, but it will be up soon.

this past weekend we had a couple of friends from our small group do a yard sale and the proceeds went to us and our friends that are adopting. and the week before that my in-laws had a yard sale for us too. so i am so excited to tell you that we are now UNDER $2,000!!!! i'm so excited. The rest is just chump change and will come in no time.

which brings me to my next big news...Chick-Fil-A is a huge advocate for orphans and they are very involved in several different programs. some friends gave us the suggestion to see if they would do a fundraiser for us. They call it a "Sprit Night". we just found out last week that they would LOVE to do a "spirit night" for us. so on a Thursday night soon between the hours of 5pm-8pm we will be rockin' it out at Chick-Fil-A in Cool Springs, TN. I will post more details later. But during that time we will invite as many people as we can to come pig out and Chick-Fil-A will give us 10% of their sales. So we just need them to do $20,000 worth of business and we will be all set. Sounds easy enough to me. The first thing we have to do is get 100 people to commit to coming to our Spirit Night. So we might be asking you! hope you can come and join us. i will let you know the date when we have it.

lastly, i just wanted to share they we bought baby bedding this weekend. i am so super excited and we found an AWESOME deal that we just couldn't pass up. i haven't set anything up really because i don't want it to get dusty. but i did put up the lamp, mobile, and dust ruffle. i will post pictures soon. maybe i'll even set it all up, take a picture, then take it down. we shall see. i love just going and sitting in the room. it is starting to really look like a nursery. all it needs is a sweet little baby boy :) all in God's timing.

well thanks for my rambling. i'll post more later.

our crib

here is a pic of our crib we put up this week. we video taped the whole thing. how crazy are we? brian being the perfectionist made sure everything was perfectly fit together. see our dresser and changing table came already put together. so it was fun to finally have something babyish that we could put together ourselves.

we now have all our nursery furniture: crib, changing table, and dresser. yay for baby stuff. it's fun to see it all sitting in his room just waiting for him. of course we still need to get bedding, curtains, and everything that really makes it a room. but the essentials are in there.

we have a baby registry

Well the past couple of weeks have been full of so much baby stuff. We have been putting up all the furniture in the babies room. We still have to put the crib together but the dresser and the changing table are up. There are already a few clothes in the dresser. We also have the rocking chair and stroller in there too. It is started to get a little crowded but that's ok. I like having stuff in there.

Several of you have asked if we have a baby registry. Yesterday we went and registered at Target for baby stuff. That was so much fun. My parent were there and my dear friend Rochelle (thanks again). It was fun trying to figure out what we needed and what would just be fun to have. You can find our baby registry here or by looking us up at Target under Audra Bailey.

We still have a few other things that we will register for but we will do that at Babies R Us soon. They have a little more variety on a couple of bigger items. We continue to be overwhelmed with everyone who is involved in this journey and walking with us. You have no idea how much your prayers and support mean to us. I'm so excited that our son gets to be a part of your lives.

pediatricians

i made our first appointment today to meet with a highly recommended pediatrician. it's so fun to talk to someone who is only interested in my baby. i'm actually very excited to meet and have some time to chat. we have a few other pediatricians to meet with too but next Thursday starts it all. now my question is does anyone have any advice as to what i need to ask the doctor? a big thing they will have to consider is that our baby might come with no medical history. i also don't want someone who is going to drug my child for every little thing. i'm a huge believer in allowing the immune system to do it's thing. i'm sure i'll let my kids eat dirt and whatever else. i don't think i'll be a germ freak but who knows once the baby comes. but i do want a doctor who will know when something is serious, especially if we have no medical history. but i'm praying that we will have a medical history and that we will have a relationship with his birth family so we can call with any questions. i'm all ears for some great advice.

lastly, (having nothing to do with a pediatrician), we submitted our information to put our profile online this week. the great thing about being Brian and Audra is that no matter how they alphabetize it we will be close to the beginning. hopefully that will work in our favor. please keep praying that God will continue impressing us on the birthmother's heart. it would be awesome if she was flipping through the profiles and came across ours and just new we were the ones? i believe God can do that. i'll post the link to our profile as soon as we have it.

one more thing before i forget, we are working on doing another fundraiser soon but we are working on logistics. please be in prayer that everything would work out. we are really praying to have all our money in by June which is in 3 weeks. Eeek! God is good and has perfect timing. Love y'all.
