success???

how does one measure success. well, if we choose numbers to measure i would have to say no. but we do not measure success by numbers, at least number of people. last night was not as well attended as we had hoped, but those who came truly showed their support. God did His thing last night and we know that He will continue to make things happen, in His perfect timing. thank you all who came out last night and supported the cause. may God bless you for your blessing.

one more step before we wait

as you know we had our home safety check yesterday morning. well it lasted all of 30 minutes. a few questions here and there to make sure we had the things we needed to have a safe home. we thank you all for your prayers that allowed us to move through the process with the knowledge that God would make it smooth. He is so good at that. please continue to pray as we sit down to finalize our wishes for a child and raising the remaining funds needed to bring them home. please pray that we would share the wishes God has for our child rather than that of what our flesh wants. God will provide for what ever He calls us to. again, we cannot thank you enough for all your thoughts and prayers. and if you are in the nashville area tomorrow night don't forget to stop by Grace Chapel for the Family Movie Night; fun for the whole family.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Just wanted to let everyone know of an opportunity for the whole family to get out of the house and have some fun. And the coolest thing is you can help us raise money for bringing a child into our home. Friday night, February 27th at 6:30 we will be showing Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" in the Grace Chapel (www.gracechapel.net) fellowship hall. There is no cost for viewing the movie, but we will be taking donations along with selling concessions and souvenirs from well known Christian bands. Won't you come out for a great cause. Let your friends and family know. We want to bring home the baby this year. We love and thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

home safety check February 25, 8am

well we are finally down to the home safetly visity. this is really the last thing we are responsible for scheduling. we are really anxious to have it completed. we moved into a new house (still renting) about a week ago and it is filled with boxes. i was all ready to do lots of unpacking this past weekend but i was in bed all weekend with the flu. not fun. needless to say we have so much to do to get ready for our home visity.

the home safetly visity is when our caseworker comes to our house to make sure it is ready for a child. she will ask us questions like where is the closest hospital, to we have a plan if the house catches on fire, are we ready to baby proof the house. and so far we have answers to all three of those questions. i actually bought our first baby gate at my friends consigment sale last week for $6. what a bargain. so the big thing is just unpacking the house.

at our home visit we will be writing another $2000 check to cover our homestudy process. and we are so thankful to say that God has provided this money. the rest of the money we need will be used when the baby is placed with us. once we go on the waiting list it could be a matter of weeks or a matter of months. please pray with us that God will provide the rest of the money. we are still in need of $5900.

for those of you in the nashville and surrounding areas we do have a big fundraiser coming up on February 27 at 6:30pm at Grace Chapel. we are having a movie night. the movie is free but donations are accepted. we will also have snacks for purchase with proceeds going towards the adoption and MusiChristian.com has provided us with some items to sale with proceeds also going towards our adoption. we will have things like autographs by relient k, toby mac, skillet, and much more. we are showing a family movie called Meet the Robinsons so feel free to come and hang out with us for an evening as we try to raise some money.

Individual Interview

As Audra stated earlier, it was more of a conversation rather than an interview. It was a sweet time of sharing who I was and where I came from. How amazing it is to find out how small this world God created really is. Our caseworker went to school with one of the athletes that I worked with during my first stint in Orlando at The First Academy. God is good. So, that is one more step down with only a few more to go. We have our Home Safety Check tentatively set for the 25th. Continue to pray for us as we wait patiently for the remaining monies to come in. We love you all.

Audra's Interview

i had my individual inteview this morning with our wonderful case worker (who has the same name as my lovely sister). the interview went really. our case worker is so sweet and easy to talk to. she really makes your feel at easy when sharing all this personal stuff about your life. i basically just had to talk about my personality, how other's see me, what my childhood was like, what my family traditions were, what kind of famiy traditions do i want to have, what our some milestones in my life, what is my relationship with my family now, what are each of them doing (yes family you are involved in all this too so watch out!), and what from my past has influenced my life and how. i felt great talking with her and i feel confident with the information that I gave her. after i left she was probably thinking i would be a crazy mom. she did ask me in the interview "you want alot of these kids don't you?" and i said "Oh Yeah!". she said she totally sees us with a large family and can't wait to help start adding to it.

so thank you to all who prayed. i felt your prayers. last week i felt so sick going into our couple's interview but today was such a breeze. i even woke up early, drove through traffic and just listened to some great worship music. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Thanks and i love each and every one of you!
